The recent environmental spills and greatly accelerated issues of climate change have deeply moved Karen Rae to write and compose more about one of her most personal concerns, water and the need to take care of our oceans, rivers and lakes worldwide. Through her many travels and exposure to different cultures, Karen Rae has gathered a great deal of insight on the global issues and challenges we are presently facing for creating a sustainable and equitable world.

In Vancouver in 2013, Karen Rae produced her first Sacred Waters - Sacred Earth Concert where she invited other accomplished artists and young visionaries to create a moving event on this poignant theme.  

Karen Rae says, “People went home ecstatic, it was an artistic prayer that reverberated through out the community. Even the Orcas came into the bay.”
